The objective of exercise science is for people to ha/ve an
understanding of how exercise and the human body interact with
one another to benefit a person’s physical fitness and health.

A 2023 study presented at the American Heart Association's conference found that people aged 70 and older who walked an extra 500 steps per day had a 14% lower risk of heart disease, stroke, or heart failure. Physical activity offers numerous benefits for older adults, such as strengthening muscles and bones, improving heart health, burning calories, maintaining a healthy weight, and reducing the risks of heart attacks, strokes, and falls. Additionally, it boosts mental health by improving sleep, reducing stress, enhancing memory, and alleviating symptoms of depression. However, there are risks associated with exercise, including injuries like tendinopathy, shin splints, and falls. To minimize these risks, older adults should warm up properly, including strength training and balance exercises, start slowly, consult a doctor, stay hydrated, and wear appropriate clothing. In conclusion, promoting the benefits and safety measures of physical activity can help older adults prioritize their health, leading to a longer and healthier life.

Stretching is all about getting to know how your body works when it comes to flexibility and mobility, along with the perks that come from it. It pulls in what we know about human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics to make stretching exercises safer and more effective. Whether you're working out or recovering, stretching is super important because it helps you stay flexible, avoid injuries, improve your posture, and move better overall.
Sleep explores the relationship between physical activity and sleep quality, duration, and overall sleep health. Exercise, particularly regular physical activity, has been shown to have a significant impact on sleep, influencing various physiological and psychological processes that promote better rest and recovery. Exercise science provides insight into how different types of exercise affect the sleep-wake cycle, the body’s ability to fall asleep, and the quality of restorative sleep stages.
