Co-founded Be the Blessing (BTB) Foundation after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, recognizing that a 501(c)(3) organization would be essential to achieving his vision of reducing gentrification, combating climate change, and creating sustainable economic systems for underrepresented communities. He seeks to create sustainable communities that support the well-being of people at every stage of life by providing them with the information and resources they need to participate in and benefit from a sustainable economy.
A Friendship Scholar, POSSE Scholarship recipient, and high school valedictorian, Jay graduated Cum Laude from UPenn in 2019, where he wrote his thesis on externalities and renewable resources through geographic modeling. He served as a Perry World House Fellow for Africa, represented the U.S. as a Next Generation Delegate of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs (2019), and was the sole U.S. representative in MCW’s Young Leaders Fellowship Class of 2021.
Jay’s professional expertise spans project and software management (Microsoft, Alteryx, SQL), auditing, and construction management, as well as data and financial analytics for Fortune 500 companies. Beginning his career in energy and sustainability, he expanded into government auditing and supply chain to better understand how to deliver tangible results for communities.
He brings this blend of global perspective, technical skill, and lived experience to BTB, with the belief that communities deserve the same level of operational excellence as the world’s top corporations. For Jay, channeling his knowledge back into community-level impact has always been the plan; and remains the most rewarding part of his journey. Outside of his professional work, Jay enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, poetry, exploring new ideas, and caring for animals.

A native Houstonian, John joined Be the Blessing (BTB) Foundation in summer 2023 as a volunteer and host of BTB's Impact Podcast series. In 2024, his role expanded to head BTB's outreach efforts and with this, accepted an interim position to serve as a board member.
Alongside his commitment to BTB, John is current owner-operator of Diversimetrics LLC, a project consultancy firm based in Houston, TX, offering a range of planning and evaluation services to clients both private and commercial, specializing in data collection and analytics.

He's an avid cyclist with a reputation for striking jovial conversation with nearly any- and everyone he encounters, and especially enjoys getting to know the people with/for whom he works; but don't let his affability fool you. John has a data-driven approach toward operational effectiveness, and remains client-focused in setting and achieving organizational goals.
