At Be the Blessing Foundation (BTB), financial wellness is more than budgeting. It is a prevention strategy that reduces stress, strengthens decision-making, and improves stability across the lifespan.
Our Financial Wellness Pillar operates across three life-stage cohorts and is reinforced through experiential youth programming, intergenerational activities, and individualized financial guidance.
We serve individuals and families navigating financial vulnerability — and we partner with Financial professionals to ensure access to trusted, pro bono financial expertise.
We intentionally support populations facing systemic barriers or major life transitions:
Single parents and working-class families
Low- to moderate-income households
Low-income college students
Young people aging out of foster care
Recently incarcerated individuals (reentry)
People with disabilities
Victims of natural disasters or sudden crises
Individuals with serious illness and caregivers
At-risk seniors and older adults on fixed incomes
Our programs are trauma-informed, accessible, and prevention-oriented.
Foundational Literacy
We equip youth with real-world financial skills before high-impact adult decisions occur.
Last year (2025):
• 43 youth interns completed our financial wellness curriculum
• Every intern built a personal budget
• Each participant planned their “ideal life” and mapped income to lifestyle
• Students explored the connection between money stress and mental health
• FAFSA education was provided to youth and parents
College-age participants complete a required 1-on-1 Wealthy Wellness Session to receive individualized guidance.
Resource Education & Stability
We support parents and caregivers with:
• Household budgeting tools
• FAFSA training and college planning support
• Guidance toward homeownership pathways (including the Maryland Mortgage Program)
• Connection to wraparound services for children and families

Financial wellness becomes a shared family conversation, reinforcing what youth are learning.
